With summer right around the corner, it is time to start thinking about how you can get your yard ready for those summer weekends. After all, the best part about summer is grilling outside with your friends and family, but if you have not paid much attention to your yard over the winter, then there may be some work to be done before it is ready for guests. Here are a few ways to liven up your yard before summer gets here.

New Patio Furniture

Patio furniture has a hard life. It is outdoor furniture, so it is constantly exposed to the elements, even if it is covered. Your patio may keep most of the rain off, but some will always splash in. Likewise, it is always exposed to the sun and the cold. This can cause the materials to become brittle and dilapidated over time. The best option here is to simply replace it, so take a trip down to a patio furniture store in Chicago or your area and invest in a new set before the summer gets here.

Edging Your Driveway

This is one step that often gets overlooked. While edging your driveway is not absolutely required, unless your HOA says that it is, it does make your driveway and walkway look much better. Over time weeds will start to grow over the edges of your driveway and dirt will wash over it making the whole thing look sloppy. Edging takes care of all of this and will make your yard look much better.

Trim Your Hedges

This is another one that slowly takes over during the winter. They grow slowly in winter, so most people tend to overlook their hedges. They may not look that bad right now, but if you trim them, then you are likely to find that it is just that you have gotten used to them.

Summer is fast approaching, so now is the time to start thinking about getting your yard ready for those summer night grill outs.
